There is one serious mystery, a deficit that has affected me and many others. How many of you have experienced the mystery of abandonment?

Humans seek out relatedness to even the most foul parental caregivers to avoid being abandoned. We want to participate in a family, even knowing it can damage or kill us. We want and need to participate in a relationship, knowing we may be ignored, abused, malnourished, cast away. As adults, we will risk loss again and again, seeking bonds with significant others who support our smallest cry for attachment and love.
