Beverlee Zell Tamis, Ph.D. has been a practicing psychotherapist since 1982. Her life's work includes many choices: wife, mother, teacher, artist/sculptor, researcher, business woman, art consultant to Fortune 500 companies, and author. After she graduated from Smith College with a degree in Psychology, her curiosity and natural inclination to discover new paths brought her to the experiences that are the heart of this book. |

Dr. Zell-Tamis writes openly about her own challenges and vulnerability, acknowledging that the flawed self is everyone's beginning. She also provides anecdotes and quotes from other people's lives, giving readers an opportunity to identify with a wide diversity of voices. This marvelous work reveals how we all share a heritage of damage to our spirit, and that there are ways to move beyond the difficult times when the music stops. The author offers this book with the hope that it might make a difference in other people's lives, suggesting paths we each might take to find and embrace the authentic and creative self that lies within us. |
